Richard A. Newman, MD

Dr. Richard Newman has many years of experience in Otolaryngology.  A native New Yorker, Dr. Newman completed his undergraduate pre-medical degree at the City College of New York.  He obtained his medical degree at the University of Louvain in Belgium and went on to complete his residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the UCONN Health Center. His areas of interest include pediatrics, endoscopic sinus surgery, surgical treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, functional and cosmetic nasal surgery and ear nose and throat related allergies.   Dr. Newman is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology at the UCONN Heath Center and has received the Jerold Leonard, MD Award for Excellence in Resident Teaching and Advocacy.  Dr. Newman has served as the Chief of Hartford Hospital’s Department of Otolaryngology and has been recognized for his leadership as the past President of the Connecticut Ear, Nose and Throat Society. Dr Newman retired from practicing in June of 2012. He is proud of all of his accomplishments in medicine, and now looks forward to spending time with his family and traveling.
