Cochlear Implant

Cochlear Implant

Some individuals suffer from severe or profound hearing loss, and they may find that a cochlear implant could be a good option for them. A cochlear implant is a small device that is surgically placed in the inner ear in such a way that it can bypass the damaged areas and often restore some useful hearing. While traditional hearing aids amplify sound that passes through the ear canal, a cochlear implant instead compensates for damaged or non-working elements of the inner ear.
